Doha: The value of the total contracts signed by the Ministry of Interior with different companies during the Milipol 2012 reached QR262m, which is an increase of QR100m compared to the 2010 Milipol edition.
This was disclosed by Brig Nasser bin Fahad Al Thani, President of Milipol Qatar at a press conference held on the occasion to wrap up the ninth edition of the international exhibition of internal state security, at Doha Exhibition Centre yesterday.
General Manager of Milipol France Michael Weatherseed, members of Milipol Qatar 2012 Committee Brig Saud Rashid Al Shafi, Col Ahmed Abdullah Al Jamal and Col Abdullah Khalifa Al Muftah also attended the press conference.
‘The Milipol Qatar 2012 was visited by 5820 visitors from 66 countries with an increase of 5.5 percent visitors, compared to 2010 edition. The area used for the expo this year reached to 5,623 sq m, an increase of 24 compared to the previous edition. This is the area reserved by the exhibiting companies and it doesn’t include the exhibition space utilized by the pavilions of the Ministry of Interior and Internal Security Force’, Giving explanation on the statistics, Brig. Brigadier Saud Rashid Al Shafi, head of procurement section at Logistics Department announced that the Ministry of Interior has reached an agreement with Nuctech, a Chinese company, to import two machines to check and inspect containers and trucks at Abu Samra border.
