DOHA: The Traffic Department will soon install special radars to nab motorists overtaking from the right, a senior official of the Department has said.

The Department recently deployed plainclothes officers to detect the violation, as a part of an ongoing campaign to stop the practice. Those who violate this rule face fines of up to QR500.

The Department also has plans to install radars at intersections to track drivers taking a wrong left turn, the Qatar News Agency reported yesterday, quoting Brigadier Mohammed Saad Al Kharji, Director of the Traffic Department. He said radars will also be installed at major roundabouts with traffic lights.
