Doha: To mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, The Ritz-Carlton Doha has partnered with Qatar Cancer Society to launch the Pink Ribbon Campaign which will run throughout October. The month-long initiative will see a series of events and activities taking place at the hotel with the aim of educating women about breast cancer, its symptoms and the benefits of early detection.
Various services of the hotel including F&B and Spa, joined the campaign under the theme of “I Support, Love, Inspire”. The event began with a Pink Pilates session held by The Ritz-Carlton Spa. There were several seminars and workshops focusing on healthy living, prevention of breast cancer, self-testing methods, early detection and testimonials from breast cancer survivors. These were conducted in partnership with the Ladies of Harley Qatar Chapter, Qatar Cancer Society and IAID (Academy for Dance, Music, Arts and Fitness). Mostafa Salamen, a renowned Jordanian mountaineer and inspirational speaker, was the keynote speaker.
Carrying the pink theme throughout the month, a series of pink programmes have been organised by the various services of the hotel. The highlight of the month will be the “Pink Zumbathon” on October 19 with registration beginning at 6.30pm in The Ritz-Carlton Spa. A raffle will be held at the event with various prizes to be won. All proceeds collected from the tickets will be donated to the Qatar Cancer Society.?
The La Mer restaurant will be holding a Pink Afternoon Tea throughout the month, where guests can savour a selection of scones, sandwiches and assorted pastries, including pink macaroons, seasonal berries tarts with fruit coulis and pink cream at QR 180/set.
