Gaza: The Israeli occupation forces had perpetrated 5,474 acts of violence that breached the signed agreement, killing 1,488 Palestinians and injuring 5,280 others, while the number of aid trucks allowed to enter the enclave didn't exceed 34 percent of the number stipulated in the agreement, the Gaza Government Media Office said in a statement on Sunday.
The statement added that government personnel and constituted authorities had tracked these acts throughout 365 days, accusing the Israeli occupation of continuously attacking the Palestinians and ramping up the blockade despite the obligations that grew out of this accord.
The declared toll was equivalent to 15 acts of violence on a daily basis, the statement warned, stressing that this suggested constant assaults during a period that should have been marked by a situation in which Gazans could breathe a sigh of relief and restore the minimum threshold of security in a postwar and displacement phase.
Regarding supplies, the office reported that 74,855 trucks laden with aid had been allowed to enter out of 219,000 trucks, recalling that these trucks should have been allowed to enter during the same period under the agreement.
In addition, the office said the shortfall stood at 144,145 trucks, representing approximately 66 percent of the stipulated total, noting that an average of almost 205 trucks entered the Gaza Strip daily, woefully short of the 600 trucks per day set forth in the proclaimed agreement.
As such, the office accused the occupation of weaponizing food and using the blockade as a tool of punishment, reemphasizing that blocking supplies deprives Gazans of the elements of survival and compounds their health and living conditions.
It remarked that shortages of spare parts and equipment had reduced desalinated water production at the two stations in the southern enclave, threatening water supplies for half a million Gazans in Deir Al-Balah and Khan Younis.
