DOHA: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) will launch its own FM radio station during the first half of next year.
The station will give traffic information and raise awareness about traffic law and safety requirements, Al Raya newspaper reported yesterday. This broadcasting system is expected to contribute to reduce traffic jams and minimise accidents.
The FM radio is part of the general development of the MoI, which includes the establishment of new security centres and services. It will focus on issues related to traffic, giving guidance to drivers in order to avoid traffic jams and be alert in case of weather changes. Tips will be given to avoid congested areas, especially during rush hours. The Ministry is expanding its work and its service centres, and it aims to be more in touch with the community and raise awareness about traffic laws. The Peninsula
