Wakrah Hospital likely to open tomorrow

DOHA: Wakrah Hospital, the largest healthcare facility in the country, is expected to open officially tomorrow.

Details of the opening ceremony are yet to be announced. In the initial phase, the hospital will cater to mainly referral patients from primary health centres in Wakrah and the neighbouring localities, Al Sharq reported yesterday, quoting a source.

The hospital started receiving visitors in May last year with the opening of outpatient clinics for maternity, paediatric, internal medicine, and diabetes among other facilities. The size of the 350-bed hospital is equivalent to the Hamad General Hospital, Women’s Hospital and Rumailah Hospital put together.
