DOHA: The Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning has opened four new public parks for families.
The parks, which include safe entertainment facilities for families, are a gift from the Ministry to nationals, expatriates and visitors to Qatar on the occasion of the National Day, said the ministry on its website.
The parks are located in Al Dafna, Umm Salal, Al Khraitiyat and Al Shahaniya.
The public parks department has arranged with some private companies to organise a number of entertainment activities for the visitors of these new parks said Mohammed Ali Al Khori director of Public Parks Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning.
One of the four parks is Al Unaiza pubic park in Al Dafna area and built on total area of 23,173 sqm.
The second pubic park is Um Salal park and has area of 12,272 sqm. A third park opened is Plaza Park in Al Khraitiyata area and its total area is 2094 sqm, and the fourth park is located in Al Shahaniya with area of 26000 sqm.
Each of these four public parks includes shaded theatres; children play area, football play yards, walking lanes, cafeterias, shelters and services buildings beside other social, cultural and sport facilities according to the director of the department.
