RIYADH: Saudi Arabia's Makkah Construction and Development Company has posted a net profit of SR241 million for first nine months of current fiscal year, a drop by 4.37 percent compared to SR252 million posted in 2013 for the same period.

The company's earnings per share dropped to SR1.46 compared to SR1.53 percent for the same period in 2013.

According to a notification on Saudi Stock Exchange Tadawul, the company posted a net profit of SR85 million in the third quarter this fiscal, up 8.97 percent compared to SR78 million in the same period in 2013.

The company attributed the rise in third quarter profit to higher revenues from increased occupancy rates in its hotel. (QNA)
