DOHA: RasGas, which is once again making a strong presence at the ongoing 8th International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC) in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), bagged an IPTC Excellence award, on the inaugural day of the three-day event, for its ability to execute mega projects, said a press statement yesterday.
The RasGas Expansion Phase 2 (RGX2) project, one of the company’s largest and most ambitious ventures, received the IPTC Excellence in Project Integration category. From amongst 13 submissions considered, the Company was shortlisted along with Shell and Aramco before being selected for recognition at the award presentation and conference dinner.
The award is given to a project that adds value to the industry and exemplifies strong teamwork, solid geoscience knowledge, reservoir and production engineering acumen, determined and watchful construction, and outstanding facilities engineering practices. Equally important, successful projects require a pervasive health safety and environment (HSE) culture, and a positive impact on the country, the region and the world.
“RasGas consistently strives for excellence in all areas of our business. To receive this IPTC award for a project as complex and challenging as RGX2 is testament to the Company’s ability to deliver on that vision in a comprehensive fashion in our project management. This award recognises RasGas’ ability to execute mega projects in efficient and effective manner while adhering to the highest standards of safety, quality and environment.
