DOHA: The Supreme Council of Health (SCH) has denied reports circulating on social media about contaminated Mars chocolate drinks being sold in the market.
The SCH said yesterday an old news was still spreading through social media. Last August Mars had recalled thousands of bottles of chocolate milk over fears that they could cause food poisoning.
Mars Milk, Snickers Shake and Galaxy Smooth Milk were among the products recalled after ‘elevated levels’ of a type of bacteria were found.
The SCH said, in collaboration with other bodies concerned, it had inspected the market again to ensure it is free from any contaminated Mars products.
Recently, it took samples of Mars products from the market for laboratory tests following reports on social media. Results show that the products are safe for consumption and free from any potential health hazards.
