Perth, Australia: A superb 171 from opener Rohit Sharma helped India to an imposing total of 309-3 in the first one day international against Australia at the WACA ground in Perth on Tuesday.

Virat Kohli also made 91 after India won the toss and elected to bat in what was a baptism of fire for Australia's debutant pacemen Joel Paris and Scott Boland.
