Doha: The Court of First Instance sentenced four accused to jail for stealing sheep and also ordered their deportation after completing the sentence.
The Public Prosecutor's Office referred four people to the Criminal Court for stealing more than 90 sheep of various types from livestock farms locally called 'Al Azab', Arabic daily Al Sharq reported.
As per the prosecution, the fourth defendant called on the first one and offered to buy 24 sheep for QR 3,000. The first defendant agreed to the deal and broke into a citizen's livestock farm alongwith the second and third defendants.
There were no guards at the farm during that time and they managed to steal 24 sheep in his car and dropped them at another farm.
The thieves admitted during the investigations of multiple robberies from different farms around Qatar. A total of 94 sheep were stolen by them over time.
Multiple cases were filed against the accused and a few are still pending before the court.
