Doha, Qatar: Qatar has firmly secured its place among the top five foreign investors in Kazakhstan in 2025, marking a significant milestone in the strengthening economic partnership between the two countries and reflecting the growing level of mutual trust and strategic alignment, said Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Qatar H E Arman Issagaliyev in a statement yesterday.

According to data released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, citing the National Bank of Kazakhstan, the gross inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into the country reached $14.9bn in the first nine months of 2025, representing a 10.9% increase compared to the same period in 2024, when inflows stood at $13.4bn.

A particularly remarkable trend has been the sharp rise in Qatari investments. While direct investments from Qatar amounted to approximately $9m in 2023, this figure surged to an impressive $1.2bn in the first nine months of 2025 alone, demonstrating the rapidly expanding scale of Qatari engagement in Kazakhstan’s economy. The Kazakh Ambassador described this growth as a clear indication of Kazakhstan’s strong investment appeal and the resilience of its economy.

He noted that Kazakhstan recorded economic growth of 6% last year, while its GDP exceeded $300bn for the first time in history, a record for Central Asia.

In addition, GDP per capita surpassed $15,000, reflecting steady progress in economic development and living standards.

“These indicators show the solidity of Kazakhstan’s economic foundation and the confidence of international investors in its long-term prospects,” the Ambassador
said.

He also emphasised that the expansion of Qatari investments reflects the strength of Qatar’s economy under the leadership of the Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the maturity of Qatari companies operating on the global
stage.

“Qatar has built an economy distinguished by stability, strategic vision and international competitiveness. Qatari companies bring professionalism, reliability and a long-term approach to every market they enter,” Ambassador Issagaliyev noted. Importantly, he underlined that Kazakhstan views Qatar as a highly reliable and strategically important partner. “Qatar has repeatedly demonstrated consistency, responsibility and credibility in international cooperation.

This proven track record is why Kazakhstan considers Qatar one of its most trusted and strategic partners and offers special and favorable conditions for Qatari investors,” he said.

In conclusion, the Ambassador stressed that the growing scale of Qatari investments represents a partnership built on trust, strategic thinking and shared ambition.

“Qatar consistently proves itself as a dependable and forward-looking partner whose actions are guided by responsibility and long-term vision. For Kazakhstan, cooperation with Qatar means working with a country that inspires confidence, delivers concrete results and sets a high standard for international economic collaboration,” he said.
