Doha: Qatar News Agency (QNA) yesterday launched a three-day training course titled “Editorial Policy”.

The course is part of QNA’s professional development programmes aimed at enhancing employees’ editorial awareness and improving overall work performance.

It also comes as part of QNA’s commitment to reinforcing an institutional understanding of its editorial policy, helping unify media discourse and ensuring adherence to professional standards and credibility in news reporting.

The course aims to familiarise participants with the foundations of QNA’s editorial policy, its general principles, and the frameworks governing news work, in addition to clarifying the proper handling of news and sources according to professional and ethical standards.

The course covers multiple topics, including editorial rules, publishing regulations, news writing techniques, and procedures for processing different types of news content, in alignment with the agency’s mission and media vision.

It also emphasises strengthening coordination between different editorial departments and raising awareness of the importance of adhering to internal policies, positively reflecting on the quality of news content and institutional performance.

The course includes interactive training sessions designed to exchange experiences and discuss practical examples, contributing to a stronger practical understanding of the editorial policy and its effective application in the daily work environment. Training courses organised by Qatar News Agency are part of its strategic vision to qualify its national media workforce.
