Al Rayan Municipality conducted over 1,000 inspection campaigns last year and imposed QR512,900 fines on outlets and individuals. The municipality issued 32 certificates authorising inspectors to destroy food unfit for human consumption, the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning said on its website. The civic body also issued 357 warnings and sent 103 food samples to the central laboratory.
