In the past few months, the Ansarullah group, which is one of the militias of Abdul Malik Al Houthi in Yemen, has gained control of Sana’a, the capital, and other parts of the north of the country, like the Saada governorate, a Houthi stronghold.
Their first reason behind this coup is to supposedly complete the Yemeni revolution that began in 2011. In fact, this reason is ironic, as nobody with any wisdom would accept it.
When Yemenis revolted in 2011, their revolution was against the tyrannical regime of former president Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was uprooted by the revolution.
The Houthis could not have seized Sana’a without allying with those the people had revolted against. They fought those who had carried out the revolution, like the Al Islah party.
It is clear to everyone that the Houthis are promoting an idea that proves their lies, but at the same time, it also proves that the Yemeni people and the international community are unaware of this.
Everybody knows that the nexus between Saleh and the Houthis was the main factor that enabled the latter to seize Sana’a; Saleh supported Abdul Malik Al Houhti in his coup against the legitimate government.
Since last September there was no mention of Saleh. No one speaks about how the Yemenis had rebelled against Saleh, which proves that the coalition will end soon, since the conditions that brought these two parties together will not last long.
After President Abdrabuh Mansur Hadi went to Aden, he took back his resignation and started exercising his constitutional authority. Some countries responded by moving their embassies to Aden.
The GCC countries, led by Saudi Arabia, support the legitimate government in Aden. As a role model, the Kingdom opened its embassy in Aden and the other Gulf countries followed suit.
It is a message that will force Saleh to accept reality and end his alliance with the Houthis soon.
