Kolkata: Describing vandalism in Presidency University allegedly by its activists as a “trivial” matter, the Trinamool Congress yesterday castigated the media for not giving due importance to heckling of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Delhi.
“We are shocked at the behaviour of the media for showing trivial incidents like how many offices were destroyed and which university was intruded, especially in the wake of the heckling of the chief minister, who deserves Z-plus security,” Trinamool secretary general Partha Chatterjee told media persons here.
Chatterjee, the state industries minister, however, condemned Wednesday’s vandalism of the Presidency University here.
Banerjee and her Finance Minister Amit Mitra were heckled in Delhi on Tuesday by activists of Students Federation of India, the student wing of Communist Party of India-Marxist.
The Trinamool leader alleged a conspiracy behind the incident in the university.
