DOHA: Hamad International Airport (HIA) will charge fee to park car for long term at its premises by the end of this month, the airport announced Sunday.
Vehicles parked in the long-term car park before paid parking is activated will not be subject to fees.
Vehicle owners will be able to pay by cash or credit card upon exit at one of the payment kiosks at the car park.
The airport management has advised its customers to refrain from parking for more than 60 days, which will lead to legal action, HIA said.
With the introduction of parking fees, HIA will increase its services in Long-Term Car Park. Customers will get a fully secured parking area with space for 2,540 vehicles, dedicated parking staff to assist users, and a regular shuttle service to the main terminal every 15-20 minutes.
Further amenities will also be introduced in the coming months, HIA said and advised passengers to arrive early to avoid any incident or delay.
