Prime Minister: Rule of law the basis for sustainable development

DOHA: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani highlighted Sunday Qatar's belief that the rule of law was a key part of the development process. His Excellency added that criminal justice was one of the pillars of rule of law.


HE the Prime Minister added that the wise leadership of the country were keen on establishing security due to its link to sustainable development. HE the Prime Minister highlighted how Qatar National Vision 2030 painted a picture of a society enjoying social and economic justice. His Excellency added that safety and security were important sections of Qatar National Development Strategy 2011-2016.


HE the Prime Minister noted in his speech that the State of Qatar present a good example of the strong link between sustainable development and security. His Excellency noted that the State of Qatar occupied the 31st rank out of the 187 countries listed in the 2014 human development report. The State of Qatar was also the top Middle-Eastern country, for the sixth consecutive year, and the 22nd worldwide in the report made by the International Peace Conference.
