Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) on Monday launched the 12th Player Tournament for Football Fan Associations in Doha.
The new competition will feature 16 teams from local, regional and international fan associations in Doha as well as an appearance from one of Qatar’s greatest football legends, Mansour Muftah.
AZF Events Manager Abdullah Al Khater announced the tournament’s partners, which include Doha Bank as the Golden Partner and Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana (Nissan) as the Silver Partner. The latter will be donating a car as part of the tournament’s grand prize draw.
“We announce the launch of ‘The 12th Player’ tournament that will take place from April 15-26 here in Doha. We’re thrilled to add another event to AZF’s community sporting calendar that’s geared towards celebrating local and international football fan associations in recognition of their passion for the sport, Al Khater said”
Each team will consist of seven players and a goalkeeper in addition to six substitutes. Quarter-finals that will be played on April 22, while the semi-final matches will take place on April 24, before the final on April 26.
