Doha: Qatar Vanimal Pravasi Forum (QVPF), a socio-cultural organisation of Indian expatriate community members from the southern Indian state of Kerala, recently organised an Iftar meet at Asian Town Cricket Stadium recreation hall.
The meet-up brought together more than 600 members from various backgrounds to promote social relations and interaction among compatriots living in Qatar.
The American Hospital Doha provided free medical checkups as part of the annual Iftar meet, while renowned Islamic scholar Saleem Rahmani Kalikavu delivered a keynote address.
Welcoming the gathering, Subair K K, General Secretary of QVPF, said that the forum has been organising Iftar meet-up for the past two decades to give the Vanimalians an opportunity to meet and greet each other.
The QVPF president Shammas Kalathil presided over the programme, which was attended by C K Kunhabdulla Master, M K Kunhabdulla, and other prominent members of the forum.
A total of five lucky participants among the community were picked at random and the winners walked away with attractive prizes.
