Doha: Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour Mohammed Hassan Al Obaidly and Director of the Labour Office of the Permanent Delegation in Geneva, Mahmoud Al Siddiqi yesterday met with a delegation from the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF).
The meeting came within the framework of joint cooperation between the Ministry of Labour and the International Transport Workers’ Federation and reviewing the memorandum of understanding and cooperation between the two parties, said the Ministry in a statement.
The meeting, which took place in Istanbul, Turkiye, witnessed the discussion of a joint action plan for the current year, which includes enhancing occupational health and safety, combating human trafficking, promoting decent work, and ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the strategic partnership to implement future plans.
The Ministry of Labour signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Transport Workers’ Federation in 2017, as part of the activities related to the implementation of the technical cooperation program between the State of Qatar and the International Labour Organization.
