Doha: Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has carried out a voluntary campaign to clean Fuwairit Beach, with the participation of 76 volunteers, in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Qatar Energy, and Qatar University, in preparation for the turtle nesting season in April.

Hussein Aman Al Ali, Director of Volunteering and Local Development Division at QRCS, said, “I am proud of the efforts of our volunteers who responded immediately to the invitation to this assignment. They helped to clean Fuwairit Beach, known for its ecological diversity, which attracts many visitors throughout the year.”

He added: “In cooperation with several partners, we sought to remove the waste and contaminants that may affect marine life there, as well as to raise awareness of the importance of environmental conservation.”

During 2023, QRCS’s Volunteering and Local Development Division is pursuing a series of social welfare and assistance projects for the benefit of 32,481 vulnerable people, at a total cost of QR21,521,300.
