MoI Facebook page wins design award

DOHA: The Facebook page of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has won the Innovative Design Award instituted by the Internet Prizes Academy for Arab Region. 

The Director of Public Relations Department  Colonel Abdulla Khalifa Al Muftah and head of Security Media Captain Mubrak Salem Al Buainain received the award at a function held at Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai.

The total number of “likes” in the Ministry’s Facebook page in Arabic and other languages has crossed 21,000, the Ministry said yesterday.

The Arabic page saw 6,514 likes while the English, Hindi, Urdu and Nepalese pages together had 14,489 likes.

The pages have been designed in a way that provides all required information about the Ministry for the visitors, said the Ministry.

The award has been given based on the following criteria: 25 percent for interaction and communication with targeted audience;  25 percent for availability of the information; 20 percent for content; 15 percent for design; 10 percent for access, five percent for number of likes.

The MoI has been interacting with the public through Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Youtube.  In Twitter and Facebook, it has separate accounts for Arabic and English.
