Doha: The Operations Projects Department of RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) recently celebrated 20 million man-hours of work without a lost time incident (LTI) since its inception in 2007. The feat achieved was a compilation of the safe work done by the department’s construction contractors, engineering and EPCM contractors, vendors, and RasGas personnel, all working together, with safety as a core value.
A special ceremony was organised recently in Ras Laffan to celebrate the achievement. Speaking at the ceremony Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi, Chief Executive Officer of RasGas said: “We have been able to reach such great heights of accomplishments by ensuring that all our contractors adhere to and assimilate with the RasGas safety culture.”
“This level of excellence is achieved not only by complying with RasGas safety regulations and procedures, but also because all the bodies involved valued the safety of its personnel the same way as we do in RasGas,” he said.
Hamad Mubarak Al Muhannadi, Chief Operations Officer said it was one of the proudest moments for the Operations Group.
“The Operations Projects Department, working together with all its contractors and personnel as a team, has achieved this. I would like to appreciate the big amount of efforts and dedication behind this. This is truly a remarkable achievement for a massive and complex facility such as RasGas,” he said.
