Doha: CUC Ulster University recently hosted an enlightening workshop led by renowned Professor Jackie McCoy of Ulster University, delving into the crucial topic of managing conflict through the lens of emotional intelligence. 

This immersive learning experience provided attendees with the essential foundations of conflict resolution, equipping them with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate interpersonal and professional disputes effectively. 

The workshop has laid the groundwork for a more profound understanding of emotional intelligence and its application in the realm of conflict resolution, paving the way for further exploration and higher learning on the subject.

The workshop was designed to impart a comprehensive understanding of the core principles of emotional intelligence and how it plays a pivotal role in conflict resolution. 

Attendees were introduced to key concepts, such as self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, and social skills, which form the bedrock of emotional intelligence. Through a series of interactive exercises, group discussions, and real-life case studies, participants gained a deeper appreciation of the practical applications of emotional intelligence in managing conflicts and forging stronger relationships in their personal and professional lives.

The Executive Dean of CUC Ulster University, Dr. Faris Gorashi, remarked that the success of Professor Jackie McCoy’s workshop underscores CUC Ulster University’s commitment to providing high-quality, impactful educational experiences that prepare students and professionals, alike, for such important management challenges.

With her wealth of experience and expertise, Professor McCoy guided participants through the workshop, sharing invaluable insights and best practices to help them develop the emotional competencies necessary to address conflicts effectively. 

The workshop not only focused on the theoretical aspects of emotional intelligence but also emphasised experiential learning, enabling attendees to actively practise the skills they acquired.
