Paris: Real Madrid's Luka Modric scored a thumping 41st-minute volley to put Croatia 1-0 up against Turkey at half-time of their Euro 2016 Group D opener in Paris on Sunday.
As a scrappy half drew to a close, Modric advanced to the edge of the Turkey box and met a headed clearance with an emphatic right-foot volley that dipped into the bottom-left corner.
