DOHA: Aspire Zone Foundation’s (AZF) last night launched Aspire Ramadan Festival with a range of community-inspired events designed to cater the whole family.
To kick off the festivities, the AZF family tent, which is located between Aspire Park and Hyatt Plaza, hosted a fun-filled clown and juggler act yesterday. This will be followed tonight by a spectacular music performance by Bahraini singer Hala Turk.
Director of Communications and Public Relations at Aspire Zone Foundation, Hussein Al Qahtani said: “Family is a key concept of Ramadan, so we have organised an array of activities that can be enjoyed by all. Yesterday marked the start of these festivities, and every weekend an exciting collection of family and religious events will be on offer, including the fantastic Hala Turk, who will be performing this evening, and a series of inspiring religious teachings led by Islamic preachers.”
Alongside the live performances, a range of religious events that have been organised in collaboration with Qatar Charity will take place this weekend. AZF will be holding daily Taraweeh prayers at Aspire Mosque, followed by educational lectures led by renowned Islamic preachers. This weekend Sheikh Wagdi Ghoneim will present a lecture entitled ‘Scientific Miracles in Sky and Space,’ while Sheikh Ahmed Al Ferjabi will give a talk entitled, “Miracle in the Qur’an”. Both lectures will be held in the tent set next to Aspire mosque. All weekend activities will commence at 9pm and continue till midnight.
The event also marked the launch of the Al Baraha programme. Hosted in the Ladies Club at Aspire Zone, families will be invited share daily buffets and enjoy Islamic Tawasheeh (religious songs), while children will be given the opportunity to take part in a series of workshops.
Aspire Zone Foundation will also host Walk in Aspire Dome throughout the Holy month of Ramadan. Walk in Aspire Dome is part of the step into health initiative launched by AZF, which aims to encourage individuals to lead healthy lifestyles through exercise and walking.
Welcome to Aspire is AZF’s third annual Ramadan Festival. The event has grown significantly and now also includes of a range of sports tournaments, including basketball, football, handball, and volleyball, as well as a collection of cultural, religious, and family-orientated activities. The Festival is open to all members of the community and demonstrates Aspire Zone Foundation’s commitment to encouraging positive lifestyle changes during Ramadan.
