Defence Minister holds talks in Mongolia

Doha: Mongolian Defence Minister Dashdemberel Bat-Erdene yesterday met the Minister of State for Defence Affairs 
H E Maj. Gen. Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah in the capital Ulan Bator and discussed matters of mutual concern in defence affairs.
Al Attiyah also attended celebrations to mark Mongolia’s National Day and Army Day.


Cosmetics and beauty sector set to grow

DOHA: Trading volumes the field of beauty and cosmetics in Qatar and GCC countries have risen significantly in recent years. 
According to reports and studies, Qatar retail sector reached $8.9b driven by increase in annual income and expansion of shopping centres and commercial complexes.
Experts participating in Beauty World Commercial Exhibition in Dubai recently, said the retail market in GCC is expected to grow.
The expo attracted 28,632 traders from 122 countries and the number of visitors increased by 11 percent this year compared to the last exhibition. 
It also attracted a large number of investors and visitors from Qatar.
Ahmed Pauwels, Chief Executive Officer, EPOC Messe Frankfurt, said people are focusing on developing retail distribution market in the region. 
They are also trying to attract big brands in the field of beauty and cosmetics. 
The exhibition also encouraged some international brands to look for opportunity in the region.
