Madrid: Spanish football club Barcelona announced on Wednesday that one of its players has tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19) without revealing his identity, as they began preparations for the new season.
In a statement on its official website, Barcelona reported that one of its players tested positive for the coronavirus after the club conducted virus tests on nine of its players. The club stressed that the case will not affect the team's preparations for their Champions League quarterfinal match against Bayern Munich on Friday in Lisbon.
Valencia Football Club also reported two new cases of coronavirus in the team without revealing their identities.
Meanwhile, Seville announced that one of its players had been infected with the coronavirus without revealing his identity, which raised concern about the possibility of affecting the completion of the Europa League. (QNA)
