Doha: Handloom Exhibition held recently, under the guidance of the Indian Embassy, the Indian Women Association (IWA) and Indian Cultural Center, attracted a large number of visitors at the Ashoka Hall, ICC.
The expo organised on August 9, 2021 was inaugurated by IWA Patron and chief guest Dr Alpna Mittal in the presence of ICC President Babu Rajan.
There were handloom sarees, dress material and dupattas on display. In the handicraft section, creations of artisans were displayed through some handmade items made by IWA members.
Along with the artistry of handloom weavers, the exhibition demonstrated the richness and diversity of Indian culture. Visitors were impressed to discover that not just the outfits, but even the fabric used to make them are unique to each state of India.
The event was not only attended by the Indian community but also saw the presence of representatives from the Qatar Women Association and the International Community.
