ISLAMABAD: Commander of the National Guard of Bahrain, Lieutenant General Sheikh Mohammad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s house yesterday.
Talking to Lieutenant General Sheikh Mohammad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the prime minister said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain as both the countries enjoy cordial and friendly relations.
“Necessary steps would be taken to promote bilateral trade with Bahrain as the present trade relations between the two countries is much below the real potential,” he added.
Nawaz said that Pakistan offers best opportunities for investment and welcomes the Bahrain businessmen to enhance their investments.

to visit Turkey
Islamabad: Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will pay a three-day official visit to Turkey on Monday.
The visit will help strengthen economic relations between Pakistan and Turkey, the official Pakistani radio reported yesterday.
25 rebels killed in Afghanistan
Kabul: At least 25 militants were killed in joint operations launched by Afghan security forces and the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan in the past 24 hours across the country. The Interior Ministry said in a statement yesterday that Afghan forces and ISAF carried out operations in Badakhshan, Kapisa, Kandahar, Helmand, Kunar, Nangarhar and Faryab provinces. It said eight rebels were wounded and eight arrested. A large cache of arms and ammunitions was also seized during raids, the statement added.
New NAB chief within a week
ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah said the process of appointment of the Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) will be completed by September 16.
