ISLAMABAD: After getting out of the uncertain situation and pressure, the PML-N-led government has taken a decision in principle not to take any action against the PTI and PAT protesters if they remain peaceful, as majority of the ruling party leaders believe that the participants of the sit-in will automatically leave the city to celebrate Eid Al Adha in their home towns.
A well-placed source in the ruling PML-N and member of the federal cabinet said that the government is finally out of the uncertain situation and the pressure created by the sit-ins as it was during last week had ebbed and the confidence of the government once again has returned.
“The last week was a little bit tough for the government; however, it has survived the crises successfully after which it has taken a decision not disturbing the marchers as they would leave the city by Eid-ul Azha,” informed the source.
When asked whether the protests of PTI and PAT have an impact on the country’s economy, the source informed that now there would be no impact on country’s economy. He said the country’s economy suffered because of the uncertain circumstances and uncertainty of the government. However, now the government has gained the confidence back and it could attract investors after assuring them that the government is in no danger, the source said.
He said that the issue of prime minister’s resignation is not even discussed in the dialogue process as both the parties know the reality that this is not possible.
However, the main issue which is worrisome for the leadership of both the parties is probing the election rigging by the judicial commission. He said both the PML-N and PTI have reached the dead end.
Similarly if the commission found no institutionalised rigging then it would be a huge embarrassment for PTI. The dialogue committee would take the federal cabinet into confidence during the upcoming cabinet meeting to be held today.
