Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday issued Emiri Decision No. 67 of 2014 reshuffling Qatar University’s Board of Regents.
The decision stipulates that the reshuffled Board comprises Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani as chairman and Sheikh Dr Abdullah bin Ali bin Saud Al Thani, vice-president of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development as vice chairman.
The members of the Board are the Minister of Economy and Commerce, H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, the Minister of Education and Higher Education, H E Dr Mohammed bin Abdul Wahid Al Hamadi, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, H E Hessa Sultan Al Jaber, the Minister of Development Planning and Statistics, H E Dr Saleh Mohammed Al Nabet, the Chairman of Qatari Businessmen Association, Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Thani bin Abdullah Al Thani, and at least three but no more than seven persons with qualifications, experience or scientific status to be picked by the chairman of the Board from Qatar or abroad.
The decision stipulated that the Board will serve a four-year renewable term.
The decision is effective from the date of issue and is to be published in the official gazette.
