Ankara: Turkiye's Foreign Ministry on Saturday strongly condemned attacks on the East-West oil pipeline in Saudi Arabia's Riyadh and Medina regions, carried out by drones launched from Iraqi territory, which caused injuries and property damage.

In a statement, the ministry reaffirmed Turkiye's support for Saudi Arabia's sovereignty and territorial integrity and praised the Saudi authorities for exercising restraint and seeking to prevent an escalation of tensions in the region.

It renewed its call for an end as soon as possible to such attacks, which threaten regional stability and security, and urged all sides to avoid steps that could further escalate tensions.

The ministry also welcomed the Iraqi government's condemnation of the attacks and its immediate launch of an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible.
