DOHA: In collaboration with the Embassy of India in Qatar, the Indian Business and Professionals Council (IBPC) Qatar hosted an exclusive session with the Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, H E Piyush Goyal, who led a distinguished business delegation from India representing diverse sectors including asset management, automotive, clean energy, consultancy, e-commerce, education technology, energy, engineering, logistics, financial services, fintech, FMCG, food processing, healthcare, infrastructure, information technology, and manufacturing.
The high-level session, held at the Four Seasons Hotel Doha, brought together distinguished dignitaries, industry leaders, and professionals from both India and Qatar to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral trade and investment partnerships.
The session was opened and moderated by Thaha Muhammed Abdul Kareem, President of IBPC Qatar, who delivered the presidential address. In his remarks, he welcomed the Hon’ble Minister and the esteemed delegates, highlighting the strengthening relationship between India and Qatar. He noted that the recent visit of the Emir of Qatar to India in February 2025 has further expanded opportunities for collaboration. Kareem also introduced IBPC Qatar and its mission to connect Indian professionals, entrepreneurs, and businesses with the Qatari ecosystem, emphasizing the Council’s role in fostering innovation, partnerships, and mutual growth.
During the interactive segment, H E Piyush Goyal engaged with the attendees in an insightful address focused on expanding trade and investment cooperation between India and Qatar. He expressed appreciation for Qatar’s continued support to the Indian diaspora and lauded the contributions of Indian businessmen and professionals to Qatar’s economic development. The Minister also shared perspectives on India’s economic growth, policy reforms, and the government’s commitment to fostering global trade linkages and sustainable partnerships with Qatar.
