BAGHDAD: A traffic police officer with the rank of colonel was killed and eight civilians were wounded in two separate incidents in Baghdad on Tuesday.
A police source told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that unidentified gunmen opened fire on a car carrying the Colonel, Mahmud Tariq, in the street between Sha'ab and Husseiniya northeast of Baghdad, killing the Colonel and wounding his driver.
Meanwhile, eight civilians were wounded when a roadside bomb exploded near a market selling fruits and vegetables in Seidea area south west of Baghdad, NINA reported. (QNA)
