DOHA: The Ministry of Environment recently launched its environment awareness campaign for November with a series of lectures in schools.
It organised two workshops on recycling paper in which students were taught where they get paper, why they should recycle it and its importance to human life. The workshops were organised at Umm Al Amed and Amna bint Mahmoud Al Jidah elementary schools for girls.
Workshops were also conducted at Al Wakrah Secondary School for Girls and Ahmad bin Hanbal Secondary School. Among the topics discussed were the importance of trees, and their role in our environment as well as chemicals’ effects on environment and human health.
