Doha: The State of Qatar has participated in the MSF Asian Family Conference, held in the Republic of Singapore under the title “Empowering Asian Families: Embracing Challenges and Building a Better Future”.
Minister of Social Development and Family H E Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad represented Qatar in the conference that was held via video conferencing.
In her speech during the conference, Minister of Social Development and Family stressed that maintaining the family structure, cohesion, and values constitutes the foundation block to building a healthy and effective society for any nation. She stressed that this shows the scale of the challenge facing the family structure due to the fevered promotion of alternative hybrid forms and encouraging individualism as a substitute for a cohesive family structure.
Her Excellency called on policymakers to support Qatar’s initiative calling for finding a mechanism for more integrative cooperation to confront the campaigns to weaken family concept and practice, as family structure constitutes a guarantee for sustainable human development based on the shared values and moralities linking the Asian countries with both Arab and Islamic worlds.
