Restaurants closed for selling expired food

DOHA: Three food establishments, including a restaurant that belongs at a 5-star hotel, have been closed recently for selling expired food and risking the lives of customers. The Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning announced on its website that it had closed a restaurant in Aslata that belonged to one of the major hotels in the country after inspectors found lapses in their health standards while preparing food and also for selling food that has gone bad. The restaurant was closed partly for 15 days.
In Al Sadd area, inspectors also closed down a cafeteria for selling expired food for 15 days. There has also been a closure of a grocery shop in Frej bin Omran for 15 days for also selling expired food stuffs.
