SLMQ to conduct competitions for children to celebrate Independence Day

Sri Lankan Majlis Qatar (SLMQ) is organising, for the 10th consecutive year, the Annual Competitions to mark the 65th Independence Day of Sri Lanka. 

These competitions are open to all Sri Lankan children living in Qatar and will be held on Friday, February 1, at the Sri Lankan Embassy from 1pm onwards. 

Competitions will be held in the following categories among four age groups: 

Colouring 

Drawing 

Prepared Speech 

Essay Writing 

All contests will be judged by a panel of independent judges and winners will be awarded trophies and certificates, while certificate of participation will be awarded to all other participants. 

The Sri Lankan Ambassador, Jayantha Palipane, will be the Chief Guest. 

The registration desk will open at 12.30pm. Application forms are available at the embassy, schools, and leading Sri Lankan restaurants.
