Al Khor market sells 50 tonnes of fresh produce

DOHA: More than 50 tonnes of fresh vegetables and fruits have been sold at a new market in Al Khor in the first week — from Thursday to Saturday.
Citizens and expats flocked to market near Al Khor Hospital and bought fresh vegetables available at cheaper prices, in large quantities.
A five to seven kg box of cucumber was sold at QR16, and the same quantity of tomato and kosa was sold at QR12 and QR18, respectively.  A five-kg box of fresh beans was sold at less than QR17, Qatar News Agency reports. The market is scheduled to open on Thursdays and Fridays from 7am to 5pm.
