DOHA: The Rescue Police, Al Fazaa, has begun a crackdown on begging in public places to end the illegal practice.
“Al Fazaa patrols are not sparing any effort to curb begging,” Captain Naif bin Faleh Al Thani, Assistant Director of Al Fazaa, told Al Sharq.
“We are coordinating with the anti-begging section at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and following up calls about beggars in public places to eradicate the practice,” he added.
Begging is illegal and has no place in the Qatari community, said Al Thani.
