DOHA: Masraf Al Rayan, one of the leading banks in Qatar, has contributed to Qatar Red Crescent projects for 2014, keeping the bank’s role in the service of humanitarian causes through its well-established social responsibility policy.
“The contribution of Masraf Al Rayan comes as a response to the call made by QRC as an official national body known for its humanitarian and relief efforts around the world, and also as a manifestation of the belief in the role of Islamic financial institutions and their contribution to charity as a way of responding to the needs of disaster victims, said Adel Mustafawi, the Group Chief Executive Officer at Masraf Al Rayan.
“We do feel the profundity and importance of QRC involvement through projects designed to help the needy and ease the suffering of many people around the world, which replicate our own line towards our core religious believers and Masraf Al Rayan’s quest,” Al Rayan added.
Masraf Al Rayan has ranked high among the Islamic banks in Qatar and the region. It announced a growth rate of 15.4 percent in its profits during the first nine months of 2013, with a net profit of 1,250 million.
Masraf Al Rayan runs 11 branches in Qatar, supported by a wide network of ATMs scattered strategically throughout Qatar.
