A protester, shielded by a wooden board, throws a paint bottle towards a riot police armoured personnel carrier during clashes in the village of Bilad Al Qadeem south of Manama, yesterday. Protesters were demonstrating to demand the release of Ali Salman, the head of Bahrain’s main opposition party Al Wefaq, who was detained after being summoned for interrogation by the Interior Ministry.
