Kerala Women’s Initiative Qatar organises cultural program

Kerala Women’s Initiative Qatar (KWIQ), an associate of the Indian Cultural Centre under the aegis of Indian Embassy, held second-anniversary function ‘Ahlan Kerala 2020’ on January 10 at The Phoenix Private School, Al Mamoura.

This uniquely-themed cultural program was inaugurated by Hyder Chungathara, Vice-President of Chaliyar Doha. The function also honoured KWIQ’s executive members and family with a shield of appreciation for their continuous hard work and dedicated support. KWIQ’s founder members also adorned the ‘Ponnada’ on KWIQ’s President Zareena Ahad.

President of Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), P.N Baburaj; President of World Malayalee Federation, Abdul Sathar; Representative of Al Zaman Exchange, Sunaina; KWIQ President, Zareena Ahad; Kwiq Patron, Sreedevi Joy;  KWIQ General Secretary, Anju Anand; Program Convenor, Liji Ratheesh; KWIQ Cultural Secretary, Sheethal Prasanth,  PRO Bini Vinod addressed the audience.

‘Ahlan Kerala 2020’ showcased an Arab family’s journey to the shores of Kerala where they witness traditional Malabar wedding functions as well as the culture, art and community love of various districts of the state. 

Through a well-scripted short skit within the show, KWIQ was also able to showcase an Arab employer’s love towards a retired domestic help. With over 100 performers on stage, KWIQ’s members and children enthralled the audience with their mesmerising performances.
