DOHA: India has said it is eagerly looking forward to a visit by the Emir, H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and expressed the confidence that his visit will enable the two countries to take their partnership to a new level.
An embassy of India press release said that India’s visiting National Security Adviser, Ajit Doval, had an audience with the Emir here yesterday and handed over a letter from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Emir, emphasising the importance of Qatar-India relations, lauded the contribution of the Indian expatriate community to Qatar, and said he was looking forward to his India visit.
Doval also called on the Prime Minister and Interior Minister, H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, and later met the Foreign Minister, H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah. They discussed a number of bilateral, regional and international issues, said the embassy statement.
