Doha: Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF), in association with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), recently organised a Blood Donation Camp as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and the Qatar National Sport Day.
Ambassador of India to Qatar, H E Dr. Deepak Mittal, was the chief guest of the day, inaugurated the event, and urged all Indian community members to be a part of this campaign, as it is essential and a need in the current COVID-19 third wave.
President of the Indian Cultural Center (ICC) P N Babu Rajan, President of Indian Sports Council (ISC) Dr. Mohan Thomas, SKMWA President Abdul Majeed, QISF President Ayyub Ullal, General Secretary Syed Komachi, Vice President Salam Kunnamal, Secretaries Usman, Usama Ahammed, State Presidents, Secretaries, and other dignitaries were also present.
Dr. Amit Varma, Specialist in Family Medicine and Diabetes at Rawdat Al Khail Health Center; Dr. Mohammed Rahmatullah Shafeeq, Head of Infection Control Department, HMC and Dr. Brian Daniel Okumu, Family Consultant, PHCC, Al Wajba provided awareness sessions and motivated the donors. The camp was held at Hamad Blood Donation Centre in Doha, and 173 persons donated blood out of 232 registered.
