Doha: As part of ongoing cooperation between defence educational institution and official media institutions, a delegation from the Joaan Bin Jassim Academy for Defence Studies visited the Qatar News Agency (QNA) yesterday.
During the visit, Director-General of Qatar News Agency, Ahmed bin Saeed Al Rumaihi met with the Academy delegation, headed by the Academy’s Director of the Academic Guidance Directorate, Brigadier General Rashid Mohammed Al Nuaimi.
The delegation, comprised of students from the National Defense Course No. (6) and several faculty members, toured several departments in QNA, including the Technical Affairs Department.
There, they were briefed on the advanced technologies used in news services, the mechanisms for gathering information from open media sources, and the role of information production, analysis, and utilization in serving the Agency’s objectives.
The delegation also learned about QNA’s media work experience and its development efforts to employ technology and artificial intelligence to enhance news services and provide innovative and diverse news content.
The Academy’s delegation also visited the QNA Training Center and learned about the specialised, high-quality training programmes it offers to Qatari media professionals and graduates of journalism and media departments in the country who wish to join the agency or other various Qatari employers.
