Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani sent a cable of greetings to the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Rajkeswur Purryag, on his country’s National Day. The Heir Apparent H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani sent similar cables to the president.
Egypt, Jordan invited to League summit
Cairo: Egyptian President Mohammed Mursi received yesterday a written message from the Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
The message included an invitation to Mursi to attend the 24th ordinary session of the Arab League Council to be held at the summit level in Doha this month.
Qatar’s Ambassador to Egypt Saif bin Muqaddam Al Buainein who is also the country’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League, handed over the message to the Egyptian president.
Meanwhile, King Abdullah II of Jordan also received a written message from the Emir, inviting him to the League summit. Qatar’s Ambassador to Jordan Zayed bin Saeed Al Khayareen handed over the message during a meeting with the king yesterday.
Chief of Staff visits Morocco
Doha: Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces H E Major General Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah left Doha for Morocco yesterday on an official visit. He was seen off at Doha International Airport by a number of senior army officers. QNA
